Community-first participation
WarCal Bricks™
A community-first way to participate alongside WarCal in long-term neighborhood projects, shared through private conversations.
Bricks are designed for people who believe communities should be improved with the people who live in them. They offer a simple way to participate alongside WarCal without needing to buy or operate a building yourself.
The idea behind Bricks
Think of a building. WarCal identifies the opportunity, improves it, and operates it for the long term. A Brick represents a smaller way to be part of that journey, especially for neighbors and community members who care deeply about a place but are not trying to buy an entire building.
What a Brick is
A Brick is a simple, human way to talk about participation in a specific long-term project. It is about being part of the story and the stewardship, without taking on the day-to-day work of operations.
Why it exists
WarCal Bricks™ exists for people who believe communities should not just be improved for them, but with them. It is one way we keep participation and benefit closer to the neighborhoods involved, rather than sending all of the upside outward to large institutions.
What WarCal does
We do the work: diligence, acquisition, renovation, and operations. Bricks are for people who want exposure to that long-term journey without becoming the operator.
What participation can look like
People participate at different levels. Some start modestly. Others participate more substantially over time. Each Brick comes with a physical brass Brick produced by Bracaletti Atelier, sized and engraved to reflect the level of participation, plus a certificate recognizing that participation. When appropriate, formal documentation is shared privately.
A community example
Imagine a resident in a community where WarCal is improving properties. She cares about what happens to the neighborhood and wants to participate in positive change, but she cannot and does not want to buy an entire building. Bricks exist for that moment, a way to participate at a level that fits her life.

A post-event example
Someone attends a WarCal event, loves the mission, and wants to be part of the work, but is not ready to move immediately. Bricks give them a simple way to keep the conversation going and participate over time, with the same long-term mindset.

A values-aligned supporter
A supporter wants real estate exposure, but does not want to manage tenants, contractors, or operations. Bricks are a way to participate alongside WarCal’s stewardship, while WarCal does the operating work and shares updates privately.

How Bricks work
High level only, focused on the relationship. Details are shared privately when it makes sense.
- Connect. We meet at a WarCal event, through a neighbor introduction, or via a referral.
- Learn together. We share how our buy-and-hold approach works in plain language.
- Share details when appropriate. If there’s a fit, information is shared directly in a private setting.
- Stay informed. We provide private milestone updates to people involved.
Who this is for
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of improving a place without becoming a developer, this is likely for you.
- People who attended a WarCal event and want to understand Bricks more clearly afterward.
- Neighbors and community members who want to participate in improvements happening around them.
- Values-aligned supporters who want a long-term approach and a private relationship, not an online transaction.
- People who want to participate in real estate outcomes but do not want to operate properties themselves.
Project lifecycle
Identify & diligence → Acquire & improve → Stabilize operations → Private updates. We aim to keep community benefit close to home, with participation discussed privately.

FAQ
Is this a public offering?
No. We do not publish terms or accept participation online. Any discussion happens privately.
Can neighbors participate?
That is part of the intent. If WarCal is improving properties in your neighborhood and you want to learn more, reach out for a private conversation. Bricks are designed to help keep more participation and benefit closer to the community, rather than only through large institutional lenders.
What does a Brick mean in practice?
It’s a simple way to explain participation in a project, especially for people who cannot buy a whole building but still want to be part of long-term community improvement.
A note on transparency
This page is intended to explain the idea and the experience of Bricks. We do not publish details online, accept commitments, or take payments through this website. When appropriate, information is shared privately and directly.
